Adam Catterall

Multi-Award winning Broadcaster: Co-Founder, Fight Disciples Podcast, Presenter, TalkSport

Biography

Adam Catterall is a multi-award winning broadcaster who began his on-air career in 2005 following a stint as resident DJ for global dance brand Gatecrasher. Within 18 months of his first radio show, Adam was appointed the new breakfast show host of Lancashire’s Rock FM a position he held for just over 3 years. In that time he won several awards including an Arqiva for UK commercial radio presenter of the year in 2007 and a nomination at the radio academy awards for personality of the year in 2008.

In 2010, Adam decided not to renew his contract with Rock FM in order to chase his dream of presenting on BBC Radio 1, a dream that was realized in April 2011 with Adam becoming a regular fixture on the network.

After a successful summer in 2012 presenting at the London Olympic games, Adam decided the time was right to pursue another dream in presenting sport. Absolute Radio in London gave him the opportunity to host ‘Rock n Roll Football with Ian Wright’ in August of 2012.

Personal circumstances forced Adam to move closer to home in 2013 and accept an offer from Key 103 in Manchester. After an incredible personal Rajar year against the performance of the station as a whole, Adam was made the host of their drive time show in 2014.

TalkSPORT were soon to knock on the door and at the start of 2015 Adam began to balance his weekly duties in Manchester with his brand new weekend extra time show in London. Wanting to utilize his incredible talent for speech broadcasting, Bauer Media allowed Adam to see out the remainder of his contract with Key103 at their sister station Radio City Talk in Liverpool presenting a daily sports show.

It was here he created the Fight Disciples podcast alongside a regular guest on his radio show, Nick Peet. The pair collected best sports show at the 2017 British podcast awards, a fete they repeated in 2018.

During this time Adam began to host all of the fight sports output on TalkSport. His coverage of Wilder vs Fury 2 in Las Vegas was nominated for a sports journalism award. Adam also picked up a further two nominations for Best Sports Presenter and Best Sports Show for his podcast with Frank Warren the boxing promoter.

His broadcasting skills have transferred seamlessly to television with Adam being the face of TNT Sports UFC coverage. He’s also become a valuable asset to their boxing team, hosting regular weekly shows on the platform and was trusted to anchor the live coverage of the Mike Tyson comeback fight.

He is no stranger to the world of voice over either with 15 years experience lending his dulcet tones to everything from animated characters to television station branding.

Music, entertainment, sport, Adam specialises in conversation creating an environment of comfort for his guests to truly be themselves.
