Conor Knight

Conor recently presented BBC Radio 1 Christmas daytimes where he took the reins of the Ricky, Melvin and Charlie show.

Conor is currently presenting mid-mornings on Radio Essex – where he’s been bringing his tongue in cheek demeanour, love for music and popstar nonsense to his dedicated and growing band of listeners since 2018.

His radio journey started on community radio back in 2017 where all he wanted to do was play the music he loved and talk about popstars being ridiculous.

This led on to him joining FunKids where he brings his brand of fun and joy to kids (and adults) across the UK since 2019, working his way from a weekend slot to now, hosting weekday evenings.

The pandemic saw Conor launch a comedy fact podcast called Baffled – which has charted in the in the UK Top 20 & US Top 40 – this has saw the likes of Paul Chowdry and Yvette Fielding drop by for a chat.

Conor feels equally at home in the studio as he does being out and about covering festivals such as Creamfields, CBBC’s Summer Social and the Brit Awards – where he gets to interview celebrities and musicians.

Hailing from Hornchurch, Conor is a typical Essex lad, and outside radio enjoys, Gigs, fashion and a trip to his local for a pint.

Adam English

Adam is a seasoned presenter, working for the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Oxford, JACKfm, Nation Radio and was recently at the helm of a national Drive Time show across the JACK Media Network.

His journey began at Warwick University’s Student Radio. Inspired by another lanky bloke from Bristol, Stephen Merchant, who graced the very same station decades earlier, Adam let his creativity burst while on air there. His efforts were recognised at the 2018 Student Radio Awards, winning Gold for Best Male Presenter; the very same award won by Greg James, years before.

This led him to cover Adele Roberts for an Early Breakfast show on BBC Radio 1 in 2019.

From there he launched Union JACK Radio’s first ever breakfast show, affectionately named The Full English, despite him being vegetarian. He never did reveal that on air. He was. at that point, the youngest national breakfast presenter at 23 years old.

Since then he has led an ARIA-winning national campaign to find Britain’s Best Beer Garden, interviewed the likes of Russell Howard, Mark Watson and Mark Labbett, wrote and performed 5 minutes of stand up comedy in a packed Leicester theatre in aid of charity and very nearly played the Mr. Blobby Song on national radio at the moment the world learned of Dame Vera Lynn’s death.

As well as radio, Adam dabbles in all manners of activities; he has a weekly podcast, hosts live events (including a Q&A with Sir Brian Blessed on a boat floating down the Thames (no, really)) and has even recently started a YouTube channel as a conduit for all the stupid ideas in his head.

In 2021 he was included in the Radio Academy’s 30 Under 30 List: a list of the ‘ones to watch’ in the radio industry.

He has no relation to Johnny.

During his time at University, Emil volunteered at hospital station Radio Tyneside, working on their Breakfast show for 2 years despite being one of their youngest presenters. He was nominated for Best Male Presenter at the HBA Awards.

In early 2015 Emil moved to Stoke-on-Trent to present overnights on the old UTV/Wireless Local Network covering 9 stations including Signal 1, Pulse 1 and The Wave. Within eighteen months, he moved through the ranks to present the weekday evening shows, alongside hosting events for the station and presenting backstage interviews, at Total Access Live 2016.

After 2 years in Staffordshire, Emil returned to the North East for a brief spell on Star Radio Drive, in his home County, Durham, before moving to Heart North East as their weekend presenter. He was their Saturday breakfast presenter for 18 months.

In June 2019, Emil took over Heart North East’s Drivetime show, becoming the youngest presenter in the Heart regional slot. In no time at all and without hesitation, he jumped out of a plane for Heart’s Big Sky Dive, helping raise money for Global’s Make Some Noise. He has been host for several live events including Cancer Research UK’s Race For Life.

Outside the world of Radio, Emil is a huge fan of his beloved Newcastle United and has been involved in fan media since 2018. He is part of the “True Faith” Fanzine & Podcast and is the face of their popular Fan Cam videos on YouTube. He has been interviewed, regularly, on Sky Sports News and BBC Sport, representing the group, offering insight and opinion.

More recently, Emil’s enthusiasm, communication and presenting skills have provided a route into the team at WhatCulture. He now provides content on movies and TV Shows such as Marvel, Star Wars and Doctor Who.

Jay is currently a presenter for Absolute Radio.

Jay got involved in radio when he joined the radio station at the University of East Anglia, Livewire. He then went on to win two Student Radio Awards (a silver and a bronze still count as winning, right?)

Immediately after leaving university he started presenting BBC Introducing, shining a light on some of the best new music around. Listening and pushing new sounds has always been a keen interest of Jay’s, starting from promoting sell out gigs at the age of 15 in his hometown Leighton Buzzard. Jay spent some time at Radio X in 2017, before moving to Absolute. Jay hosts Weekend Breakfast and has also presented the music-focused Evening Show, the Absolute Radio Request Show plus Rock N Roll Football (incorporating Jay’s other love: sport).

And speaking of, Jay has previously covered Norwich City for the BBC (his second team, he admits, behind his boyhood Liverpool). He also hosts an American Football podcast, The NFL Tailgate. After accidentally rooming with a bunch of college footballers whilst living in New Orleans, Jay got into the sport and now firmly has ‘attending the Super Bowl’ on his bucket list.
