Emily Sandford

Presenter, Capital FM

Biography

Emily presents weekends 12-4pm (Saturday & Sunday) on Capital South Coast, and can also be found covering for the Capital Network which broadcasts across the entire UK.

Within 6 months of landing her weekend show, Emily added 10,000 listeners to the station and currently holds more listeners in the region than BBC Radio 1.

In 2014 Emily won three National Student Radio Awards supported by Global and the BBC. Picking up Gold for ‘Best Entertainment’, Emily also went onto collect Bronze for ‘Best Female Presenter’ and Bronze in the ‘Kevin Greening’ Category for her Outstanding Creativity.

On the side Emily can be found writing content for Capital XTRA in London, and at the moment is writing her first coffee lifestyle book about Pop Musicians.

Emily lives in Surrey, but being from a Norwegian family means she spends a lot of time flying to Scandinavia. She absolutely adores Scandinavian Culture, and ‘ja’ (that means yes) she can speak the language fluently. With a large amount of her family being designers, design plays a huge part in Emily’s life. Apart from presenting nothing gets her more excited than some gorgeous interior!

A huge music lover, Emily is your go-to girl for creating the perfect playlist, and while you’re at the party you’ll feel like you’ve known her for years. Time is quickly proving that she’s definitely one to watch.
